Front Wheel Forks
The compound angle visible here is necessary for the smooth traverse of the carriage over the tracks. It is a combination of the 6 degree pitch out of the wheels bottom edges related to the rail bottom and the 15 degree angle of attack of the wheel forks related to the rail side surfaces. This prevents slipping, chattering and crabbing of the traverse wheels upon the track segments.
