This Target Proves Instability Present in Early Testing

We fired a couple rounds into a dirt bank after this target displayed such poor results. We discovered that 300 grains of B.P. did not produce enough pressure to consistently press the skirt into the rifling. So three rounds were spun adequately, achieving stability, but two were not and did not. We were still using a six oz. bolt at this time and also the relatively light 300 grain powder charge. These weights worked very well for the one inch, four groove test barrel, but not at all in the 1/6th scale 100 Pdr. barrel which has a 1.067 inch bore.
